SCS or OPENCELL wetsuit considerations

Proper use and maintenance of the SCS or OPENCELL wetsuits is essential to prolong the service life and ensure the performance of the wetsuits.

Avoid friction and scratches

SCS and OPENCELL materials are very soft with weak wear resistance. Please avoid direct contact and collision between clothes and hard objects, avoid nail injury to SCS or OPENCELL, and avoid friction between clothes and rocks, corals, shipwrecks, sand and stones. When training at ordinary times, wearing an rashguard over the wetsuit can have very good protective effect ultra smooth wetsuit surface.

Avoid strong sunlight or corrosive liquids

SCS and OPENCELL are excellent foaming rubber materials. Please avoid prolonged exposure to intense sunlight and contact with corrosive chemical liquids, which can lead to deterioration of diving materials, brittle or cracking, loss of elasticity, and thereby affect the life of diving suits.

Correct use

Please avoid overstretching while wearing. Overstretching can cause wetsuits to tear or printing to come off. It's easier to wear it when you're wearing it by applying shower gel to the inside of your wetsuit and on your body surface. After each use of wetsuits, please immediately rinse with fresh water, and dry in the shade, avoid direct exposure to the sun.

Reasonable defects

When buying new wetsuits, it is normal to see some slight oil stains on the surface of the colorful ultra smooth SCS, or some slight chromatic aberration and slight uneven surface color, which is determined by the SCS production process.

Proper care

Please use a special hanger for wetsuit or a rack without edges and corners to hang and keep the textile fabric facing outwards as far as possible. If stacked, please avoid crushing. Long-term compression of wetsuit can affect material flexibility, elasticity and warmth.

Service life

The diving material is a kind of rubber material, whose performance degrades with the passage of time and the increase of use. The metal coating on the surface of SCS will fall off due to various kinds of friction, which is a normal phenomenon. It is recommended that you change it in time according to the situation to ensure maximum safety and comfort when diving.

Recommended use of YAMAMOTO's Stretchy Nylon diving suit

Read this article before you buy and use it for a better use of BESTDIVE stretchy nylon diving suit.

Size selection

YAMAMOTO diving material has excellent elasticity and is very snug. BESTDIVE all suits use YAMAMOTO's high quality dive materials. After the wetsuit is launched, the elasticity will be released. It is recommended to choose a little tighter size instead of choosing the tightness with normal clothes, otherwise after entering the water, the wetsuit will appear too big or too loose.

Heat preservation performance

YAMAMOTO material USES top-grade neoprene and advanced technology to evenly distribute a large number of sealed honeycomb bubbles inside the sponge. These nitrogen-filled cavities ensure excellent thermal insulation for BESTDIVE suits. BESTDIVE combination wetsuit or 3MM jumpsuit is your best choice if you are diving in warm waters. If you're cold, wear one of our headgear vest with you so you can easily add or remove clothing depending on the water temperature.

Reasonable weight belt

Because YAMAMOTO material is rich in honeycomb bubbles, its buoyancy is greater than normal wetsuit . At the first time you use BESTDIVE wetsuit, you will probably not be able to dive due to the weight of your previous experience, because the buoyancy is great. We recommend that you gain 1-2 kg for a smooth dive. If you just soak your wetsuit in the water for a while, it won't do much to reduce buoyancy, because the YAMAMOTO material is so airtight that water can't get into the pores. A reasonable weight is the best choice.

Correct way to wear

When wearing clothes made of stretchy nylon, you should take extra care. The correct method is to slowly go up from the cuff or the opening of pants until the wetsuits are even and straight, so as to avoid twisting the wetsuits and dragging them. Since it is a bit difficult to wear in the water, we suggest you put on your wetsuits and pack them before you go into the water.

Avoid napping

Super elasticity diving material is rich in elasticity, the weakness is that it is slightly weaker than the standard nylon wear, It is easy to fluff the fabric by repeated friction. Therefore, friction on rocks or on the side of the ship should be avoided. Using BCD without soft gasket should also be avoided or you can wear a BESTDIVE vest outside the suit to effectively block the friction of BCD on the suit. The suit can be used for more than two years (80 dives) under proper maintenance.

More choice

If you are a dive instructor, or you use the wetsuits for engineering job or dive shop hire, we recommend BESTDIVE standard nylon products with YAMAMOTO durability class #38 superior neoprene for better durability. The BESTDIVE enhanced ultra-elasticity suit is also available, using special wear-resistant materials on the shoulders, underarms, hips and even KEVLAR bulletproof materials.
